Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

Catch 22

Most, although not all audio DBTs, use the man-off-the-street method -- in other words, unqualified test subjects. Were the promoters of these procedures clearer on correct methodology, they would first separate the chaff on qualifying rounds, then test the remaining subjects

The "man-off-the-street", being oblivious, deaf or not mentally ill, is the only one willing to do the DBT in the first place.
The "Golden Ear", safely sitting in his computer chair and bragging, knows (now) better than to take the said test. Street cred is tough to get back in this age of the internet. Not like the old days when the GE's fell for that trap.
So I guess we'll never really know now will we, Michigan J Frog?

cheers,

AJ
