Hence I know your beloved "expectation bias" theory will tell YOU you cannot hear any differences in those solid state black boxes you so dearly love.

I on the other hand need ONLY listen sighted or not, at matched SPLs or not and clearly hear the differences in many (not all) audio components.

You need to understand that just because YOU cannot hear a difference in audio components doesn't mean others cannot hear differences in audio components! Nor does it mean they're fooling themselves either! It simply means they can do something you cannot! Just like you cannot beat the worlds fastest runner, highest jumper, weight-lifter etc. The answer is really quite that simple. You and those who believe like you do are the ones who makes it more complex.
