I recall reading long ago Linkwitz explaining certain alterations to the design, IIRC it had to do with drive mounting, the screws used or something like that, that were the result of feedback from a listener that Linkwitz trusts. Linkwitz made no bones whatsoever declaing that the listener in question was more discerning than he at hearing subtle effects.Hence your characterizations of Linkwitz are if not outright erroneous then at least exaggerations, hardly surprising as quite like the extreme objectivists you so disdain facts and interpretations become grossly simplified and perverted to fit the polemic; techniques tend to be common with extremist types.
