Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

I can only assume that since you admission

sometime back of you lack of knowledge about DBT controlled testing in audio, the players, the practice, etc., that you have been doing your homework.

So when are you going to dump the brain load on us? How about a summary of the current practice, organizations and individuals, especially in the reviewing and evaluation community that actually use the DBT methodology. The stuff that consumers could utilize to help with their purchase decisions (e.g. skip the manufacturer claims/Ads).

You see I have been known to refer to DBT in audio as not a 'methodology' but rather a 'mythology'. Of course that's technically incorrect but I find it nicely drives home the point that, beyond the amateur variety, one has to look hard and wide to find evidence examples of the practice.

Now this is hardly a novel observation, yet it's one that seems to make no impression on DBT devotees whatsoever, they seems so convinced of the superiority of the methodology for evaluating audio equipment that the fact that near one actually *does so* appears to them inconsequential. Isn't that pure irony, especially from a crowd that likes to pose as scientific objectivists!

They're like the crowd that believe the superiority of electronic components such as amplifiers and preamplifiers can be evaluated my merely looking at a specification sheet, both groups composed of Blind Faith devotees it seems.

So have you found the hidden record for the past few decades, the stacks and stacks of DBT results? Let me know would you, because anything to replace the empty claims, squaks, and general noise produced by the DBT zealots would be an improvement.
