When I built my last house, I had four dedicated AC runs installed in my dedicated listening room. Two years ago I moved to an older house that had both good news and bad news. The good news is that the listening room has better proportions, angled walls and provides measurably flatter response.
The bad news is that the room's outlets have but one circuit back to the upstairs breaker box. I hired an electrician to drop four new 20 amp lines to feed my high current (10 amp each) power amplifiers and separate runs for analog and digital gear. After about an hour of working in the attic, he came down and told me he could not do it. He said he could not drill through down through the walls and drop the lines because there are solid fire stops installed. The house was too well built.
We do not all live in ideal environments. Bandaid solutions can be better than no solution.
