RE: Measurements can tell secrets if you speak the language

This is the very best description I've ever heard anyone state about the true value of measurements, especially in audio. I agree 100% with your statement that: Where measurements are critical is in the design and development of things... Who could possibly dispute that?

I also agree 100% that: When an observed “audible” flaw doesn’t show up in a measurement, one is not measuring the source in the right domain. I have been stating for a long time now that it seems quite obvious to me, if I/we can hear differences that aren't correlating with the measurements a manufacturer provides with their audio components, it's obvious they aren't measuring the correct things or they aren't measuring in the correct domain as you said.

I continue to agree with you when you said: I suppose in hifi audio the area of investigation which seems ripe and obvious it would be looking at dynamic behavior instead of static behavior. That seems so obvious as to not even need saying.

Finally as a fellow Firesign Theater fan I ask you: How Can You Be In Two Places At Once When You're Not Anywhere At All
