Re: test for transients

Most everyone here is a 'babe in the woods' when it comes to distortion testing. I have the Hirata test unit. I have used it in the past. It is very exotic, compared to THD testing. The Hirata papers are very complete, but complex. It is a very difficult to understand distortion mechanism, but many solid state amps have it, and most tube amps are relatively free of it. How about that? Further investigation of the Hirata distortion will just the confuse things around here. Better left alone on this thread, at least.
