Well, I did find them but re-reading them after all this time I did not find them useful. Perhaps the Wireless World versions were dumbed-down a little and the AES versions more informative.
The papers show that different transfer functions modify the spectrum of assymetrical sqaure wave (with no DC). What look's like a piece of custom test gear measures the distortion value but it's not clear how this is calculated.This is probably a red herring for mfc - the square wave testing rang a bell but it doesn't help him do what he wants to do. I suspect in the professional literature there are more distortion testing methods than you can shake a non-linear stick at.
