I think that this should be a must-read for serious audio amplifier designers. The history of audio measurement is great ! The need to reduce higher order harmonics is in this paper as well. The problems that we find in analog amp-pre-amp design are presented well. I don't want to further nit-pik, unless it can help the author of the thesis.
I have felt that this is what audio design is all about. It hasn't often been presented on this website to any great extent before, at least in respect to audio amp design.
Many hi-end designers use these principles, because they work! We try to make the most linear circuits, without negative feedback, and make them fast responding to any input . We go all-out to keep the higher order distortion low. This is the essence, in my opinion, of successful audio amp design.
I hope that input like this thesis can be a springboard where we can even go further to make better audio equipment, at any price point.
