RE: Comments from J. Gordon Holt

"should the industry ignore the majority of audio buyers who are looking for better sound/performance from the normal/average music industry release."

Whose talking about the average music listener? By definition those on the AA are not the "majority" of audio buyers, we are talking about the limits of audio reproduction not the lowest common denominator.

"I mean really, this guys got hifi credibility with people who listen to violin recordings but his true purpose is listening to pop music. How bizarre is that?"

And what about the guy who likes to listen to violin and then the next record he pulls out is led zepplin? Well so what. If the recording was well made then he will get great led zepplin sound but if not then it will sound like a crappy 70s rock recording (many from the 70s are actually pretty good though). It doesn't mean that it won't be enjoyable at full blast because, well, its still Led Zeppelin and that sounds good blasting in the car as well because its good music. Will it be more enjoyable with higher fidelity? Maybe, maybe not it depends on the recording.

It is really hard to listen to classical music with a compromised system. You certainly have difficulty getting all of the subtleties from the music without a top notch system.
