Laughing through his tears?

"I think J. Gordon Holt has already gotten the last laugh."

Really? I didn't perceive any such thing! In fact quite the opposite, the man going on about "perpetual embarrassment for me" and bemoaning "the mess my disciples made of spreading my gospel" hardly sounds like he's hooting it up; that last bit hints that he may be getting a little *nutty* I'm afraid to say!

I'm definitely sympathetic to disparateness where it comes to individual perception but saying Holt is having the "last laugh" based upon what he said invokes in me a state of incredulity that is almost palpable!
