Sure some audiophiles might spend tens of thousands of dollars on such an academic pursuit but why would or should the industry ignore the majority of audio buyers who are looking for better sound/performance from the normal/average music industry release.
Some absolute sounders understand their pursuit but obviously many others don't. There's no way for me sympathize with some guy who's harping on how great his system is yet whines about how bad it sounds with Led Zeppelin records. I mean really, this guys got hifi credibility with people who listen to violin recordings but his true purpose is listening to pop music. How bizarre is that?
Don't blame the audio industry for not delivering what the recording industry, musicians and music lovers in general care very little about.
Give me rhythm or give me death!
