RE: WAV vs FLAC

If you understand how modern computers work by multi-threading you will know that execution of any thread can be and usually is suspended while another is executed. Multiple CPU cores can complicate the execution even more.

There is no way that a computer can tell that networked audio data is any different from disk data or printer data etc.. No Audio stack is generally involved. The Apple WiFi application is an exception since it is run inside iTunes.
