Hi Mac ! My music is stored and backed up in my main PC, streamed through a Linn Sneaky DS and digitally fed to an Esoteric D-07 external DAC. Am also expecting an Audio Note Kits DAC 2.1 to build and have some fun comparisons with the Esoteric.
I had recently auditioned the Cambridge and like it a lot. The Linn is sonically better as a transport but the Cambridge was still a stellar performer to be recommended if one needed a network streamer on a budget.
I also liked the USB feature in the Cambridge and tried an external HD with it.
I had also tried the Sonos last year and felt it was lacking in many ways not to mention it was sonically inferior as a transport, in audiophile terms.
I recommended the Cambridge to the OP as I feel it's the best solution if sound quality and features are the main requisites.
