This could also be a good thing. With the Squeezebox Touch, when you power up or connect a USB drive, it must go through a period where it scans the music on the drive to build or update its internal library database. Because of the lack of computing power of the Touch, the user interface is near unusable during this period, so you must wait.

Being able to simply plug in a USB drive or flash stick and immediately start browsing and playing music would be welcome, even if the user interface is more primitive.
