I should add that if the decoders don't result in exactly the same PCM streams, that is an error. One (or both) of the implementations is wrong and from a software perspective would need to be fixed, rather than viewed as a matter of taste. Taste can dealt with by adding post-decoding filters.
On the good news side, I am not aware that any differences exist in decoding, for FLAC for example, on any of the different platforms. Thankfully the programmers' also believe that lossless audio must decode back to the input signal exactly to be considered lossless -- anything else is just a bug.
