RE: Question on the HDtracks catalog

Well, the big killer for me is lack of multi-channel. And I also want the CD layer to convert to MP3 for portable listening.

Buying the SACD gives me all three: m-ch, 2.0 and CD quality for not much more than the price of HDtracks. And I don't need to chew up precious Internet bandwidth (i have a fairly small cap per month) downloading the tracks.

Also, given that we know from BruceB that most of the stuff from HDtracks are in fact ripped off SACDs, I'm concerned over potential loss of quality moving from DSD to 88.2. As you say, it's probably not much but why incur the extra processing step?
