Dropouts are something that you may notice only after: (1) using very high quality and hence slow upsamplers, (2) upsampling to very high rates (176.4 or 193 kHz), (3) configuring the sound card to a minimal number of buffers, and (4) using a slow CPU and/or deliberately slowing down a fast CPU,

THese are the ones I do...but no drop outs because I am using .wav.

Maybe I'll try a flac and see.
