_If_ you use AccurateRip integration in EAC, Burst mode can be wonderful and makes ripping much faster. I'm also fairly convinced that most CD drives are more accurate in Burst mode, but that's just anecdotal.
My routine is to always enable Burst mode for the first rip. If the album is in the AccurateRip database, then it almost always is verified and you're done. If it's not in the database, or if it appears that the particular pressing of the CD wasn't matched, then re-rip the CD in Secure mode using Test & Copy.
