i've tried looking at DOZENS of threads about Exact Audio Copy & 1:1 ripping etc. to no avail as NONE give the proper setup for this complicated mess of a program. i've also tried looking at setup tutorials which are bogus too as they're all about CHANGING data to flac & mp3 etc. i want bit accurate copying ONLY!
i've been using audiograbber for a long time because it's intuitive, but it doesn't perform ANY data checking and often ruins tracks by introducing pops or adding gaps to tracks making them 100% useless.
i also need bit accurate copying because as a DJ, i do alot of remixing and depending on what CD i'm working with, i might be working with 3rd or 4th generation copies.
could someone please either list all of the settings for ripping trracks in NOTHING but bit accurate WAV format or provide a link to this impossible to find info. i was horrified when i tried to make my 1st attempt to use EAC for WAVs that it was compressing files to 1/4 their size. when i tried looking at compression settings, there is no "zero compression" option, just "chinese" mp3 style bitrates with no 16 bit @ 44.1 option.
for a program that CALLS itself Exact Audio Copy, it sure seems like it goes out of it's way to do anything BUT copy files exactly! it programs like this that HIDE logical settings like, um "exact audio copying" behind a confusing interface! just offer a SIMPLE "bit accurate copying with verification" button. that's ALL i want to do!
so, once and for all, will someone please reveal this "top secret" information? i don't want to hear diddly about mp3, flac, itunes or using my PC as a music server. i just want to use EAC for what it's main purpose in life is SUPPOSED to be. slow speed copying is fine. i want to be rid of data errors forever, nothing more.
If it's ported, it's distorted.
