It seems to me that any model without a convergence criterion (satisfactory computation criterion) cannot be relied on to give an accurrate representation of the original. Statistical data are fine but do not necessarilly allow for proper interpretation when absolute accurracy is required. In such cases seccessive approximation methods rather than 'guessing' are required.
This is the trouble with much of the software that 'sound' different. Why do it when resampling can be done 'batch' offline well. Clevereness?
