RE: SSRC is pretty good at interpolation guessing

I’ve tried all the resamplers you mention and, from my perspective, each has unique problems. I choose SoX as a reference because it’s easy to get, easy to use, and appears to be a current favorite amongst audiophiles.

The linear phase resamplers I tried do a very good job down sampling a track they’ve previously up sampled. But if you use SSRC to down sample a track previously upsampled by SoX the results are not so good. That makes sense because the down sampling process each one uses is likely the inverse of the up sampling process. One unpleasant side effect of SSRC and some others is that the output and input files often contain a different number of samples.
