sogood,
I appreciate your mentioning this seller- they seem to have very good deals. They have (9.10.09) one of the model you mentioned left. However, as I don't have the 64-bit OS lying around to load, nor a usable PCI Express 16 video card, and wanted to have 8GB RAM right away, I bought from the same firm their other quad core special deal:

The HD is 640GB rather than 750, but anyway, I'll use that for OS, programmes, and samples sets, and a second, portable 320GB for recording.
When I took the price of your model ($370), added the OS (150), memory (140) and video card (80), it added up to $740 - noticeably more than the $600 (tax and shipping) for the model you bought.
Yesterday I'd looked at a used Dell XPS which was very similar, also a Q6600 quad core, 1T HD, 128MB video, and so on for $625, but it too needed the OS, so with tax and OS- that one would be over $800. That one did have the 8MB L2 cache- I forgot to ask what this one has.
This is only my 5th computer since 1993- they're more or less 3-4 year items in my use, but I've never had one that was performance oriented. This replaces a 1998 Dell Pentium 750 with 256MB of RAM- which cost something like $1,700 new.
I'm looking forward to it, although I'm not excited to have to have my first fuss with Vista just when it's on it's way out,..
Cheers,
Bambi B
