Abe Collins,
What a very attractive arrangement for you "very simple" system- so clean it almost appears a systems engineer designed it!
Questions:
The lack of visible wires is amazing- is there access behind the niches?
-- I've just set up my SP10 > D115 system on racks 3' in front of my LP/CD shelves and the ability to walk behind and organize the wires is one of the best upgrades ever!
> The two small speakers (Triangle?) top center next to the computer monitor- are those related to television sound?
> Can you say something of your experience with the LS25/II? What did you use previously?
-- I've had some notions of changing my LS3 to either an LS15 or LS25/I (6922 instead of 6H30)
> I notice you specifically mention the Apogee DAC is Firewire. Are you among those who don't care for USB connections for audio?
- - I ask as I'm looking at portable HD recording solutions (currently I use an M-Audio 2496 soundcard in a Dell P750) and the outboard units are around as both Firewire and USB.
> What power amplifiers did you consider and what tipped your choice to the Manley?
- - I like the Manley design- it reminds me of old cathedral radios. The faceplates would be great in faux burl walnut!
Interesting setup- well done!
Cheers,
Bambi B
