Hey Feanor,
cPlay and cMP look taunting for me. From a brief look at documenation that I quickly find, I still don't really understand how they interact. I still come away feeling that the UI couldn't do it for me: I like my Foobar2000 interface.
Do you mean "daunting"???
Yeah, it IS confusing and you really have to see them in action. I held off forever because i couldnt understand how you could do it all using the scroll wheel...I was just using cplay by itself. so I feel your pain.
However in five seconds it all makes sense if you see it in action. I TRIED to explain it in the post below.
Cmp controls everything. You search by artist or genre or as I do by all the available albums or playlists. Then select what you want. Cmp disappears and cplay opens up. You scroll and select to change songs in cplay. Then pressing the wheel and left click, it takes you back to cmp to browse the library. It is all super simple.
I too thought that its interface is lame, but in practice it is easy and while not as flashy as others, it works, and I dont know of a program that works as well from a remote and delivers near the sq of cmp/cplay in combo.
Here is the post where i try to explain it.
And yes you are right about the chokes.
