I'm looking at getting a DAC for my desktop computer, choosing between soundcard w/SPDIF out--> DAC or USB--> USB DAC. It's a limited use system, only for casual listening and gaming.
My question is, do USB DACs put much drain on the CPU?
My computer is getting stretched to its limits with current games, and, jitter aside, I'd go for the SPDIF route if it would keep my computer from sputtering.
Thanks!
