PC Radio to cdp DAC/ use USB data transfer cable?

Hi

First time I am using or trying something like this. But I have a very nice cdp with a USB input to the DAC section. I have a 5 year old simple Dell PC and want to run internet radio to the DAC of the cdp. Would I just use a USB 2.0 data transfer cale? (with usb plug on both ends)

Up till now I have only run pc audio out thru a mini rca pin to headphones. But I was told that pc audio would also stream out through the usb port. Please excuse my newbie nature with this subject!

If not, what should I use?

Also, is 12-15 feet to far?
