I don't happen to use ASIO4ALL, so I can't speak to it perfectly, but my understanding is that it is a wrapper around WDM kernel streaming, and not the usual mixer. It is possible for certain sound cards to still go through mixing, either through their own mixers or by punting the signal back through the Windows mixer. That is an issue with the implementation of the sound card driver, and not ASIO4ALL, though.
