I don't think it really matters where the attenuation happens if it is all digital anyhow.

I was thinking that it could be the SPDIF AES/EBU setting but the BSS is happy with AES/EBU, so I am at a loss.

I just had a thought. I remember Christine Tham saying that with ASIO you are not supposed to be able to adjust the volume. I CAN do this in Foobar with its ASIO, but that is not supposed to be a good implementation. SO perhaps you CAN't do it at the PC if you are using properly implemented ASIO! If you are using ASIO.
