Home Computer Audio Asylum

Music servers and other computer based digital audio technologies.

I've had mine over 5 years now. LOVE it.

I use the Remastering Engine, every format from Internet Radio mp3 streams to DSD 128 Files sound natural, musical, and sounds great to me.
I've never looked to replace it.
When I play my personal DSD 64 Live recordings through it, it's amazing how good it sounds,
from a $700 Sony D100.
I have Kef 104.2, Mac 275 Tune Amp and 2500 Tube Pre.
I've seen Streamers and Library gear that costs Thousands, many thousands.
The Z1 may be old and obsolete,
but it sounds good even so.
I dread the day it conks out,
but I have had and am having great luck with Sony Gear lasting.
I have a CD player from 2000, and the 1500 SACD, still going strong.
I think the Z1 is worth the $, but I did see it discounted a couple of times.
Most people decry the lack of streaming, but that doesn't bother me.
Tho if it Did have it, I'd probably take advantage!
