RE: Following Upon DAC Recommendations.

I was recently in a similar situation. I was seriously looking to buy 2 pieces that were unobtainable other than via online (one dealer, one mfg.) I don't think my emails were in the hundreds, but there were a significant number of them, and there was a sizable break in between communications while I sorted some things out. I never got the feeling I was bothering them, or being anything other than a careful customer. Part of the online process for me is weeding out dealers such as yours. If they aren't helpful before (one piece was $4k, the other $7k) how are they going to be after the sale for warranty or return?

Back in the "old days" when I started this adventure I had a great dealer. I could show up on a Saturday afternoon, tell Brian I wanted to try something, and he'd hand it to me saying "bring it back Tuesday". At first being a newby he'd take a CC imprint, just in case, but after not too long it was just "see you on Tuesday". And I mean I could take anything, I took a $10,000 BAT preamp, and a $6,000 Linn CD player once, no questions asked. And I bought neither! Such a far cry from that now. As I said, audition fees? Are you kidding me? But, as someone on here said, they don't care about my piddly purchases when there are people where I live dropping $100's of $1,000's on equipment.

I hope your situation works itself out. Best of luck.
