May I suggest that you make 2 backups? The reason is that if you have a failure caused by the hardware then replace the music disc by the backup the fault can then affect the latter and you have lost everything. in other words once you use the backup you no longer have a backup!
I also have a third backup which is kept offsite. No matter how many backups you have at home they won't offer security against fire, flood and theft.
