RE: Complet Failure...

Could be, just don't have the desire to fiddle around with it, reminds me of Windows. Ironically, it would probably work fine with a Windows machine since that's the software it came with.

I did come up with a plan B, more straightforward and traditional, but involves more real estate (that I really don't have) and a screen (stole my wife's work monitor to try it out) and the BR player we already have. Video plays, sound comes out of the DAC using coax, and it sounds pretty good. It just looks a mess!

I may just have to break down and get an inexpensive (if it exists) home theater receiver. I do already have an amp and speakers I can hook up for at least the 2 channel I'm interested in, but I would need a BR player with RCA audio outs. Panasonic makes a couple, one around $400 another around $1000, so they exist!

Sure wish these performances were issued on CD. Got another piece by the same composer, same conductor and orchestra today on SACD, much simpler.
