RE: Interesting comments, thanks!

I'm liking my RME ADI-2 DAC FS a lot but it's not clear to me if it will displace my old PS Audio NuWave DSD DAC as my favorite. It doesn't have to. I like both of these DACs even though they sound a little different. Sometimes I just enjoy changing it up - to a certain degree.

It was pretty clear to me that for my listening taste, the RME beat out the Chord Qutest, Denafrips Ares II, and Topping D90, all of which have been in my system this year. These are all excellent DACs but not quite to MY taste......

.....but they clearly beat out other DACs that I dislike very much such as the Luxman DA-06 and the Wavelength Audio Brick v3 USB DAC.

I thought the over priced and overly smooth Luxman DA-06 and the Wavelength Audio Brick v3 USB DAC were both duds. These are both very smooth, lacking detail and dynamic punch, and rolled off at the frequency extremes. Some might favor this sort of sound but I thought they were horrible.
