I'm keeping it, it will take longer to really get used to it.
A Wireworld Flat/Grey Usb cable has provided a bit roundness and finese
to the Piano Sound of the Bill Charlap 24/96 "Notes from NY" Download, this morning.
I think I'm used to a bit more Body, esp with Piano, on the other Dacs.
And when I added a Jitterbug, just exactly How out of tune the Piano and Bass were on a couple of Unisons was very obvious!!!
But I'm not disliking what I'm hearing from the RME.
And I do like the forward flow of the music on the RME, it draws me in
when I stop listening To the Gear/Cables.
But I'm also still evaluating the stuff.
I have a few "Problem" Files with aggressive highs that the Mac D150 makes listenable, ( at least if I'm in a Receptive mood...)
but the RME couldn't.
I've read that's the sign of an Honest Dac...
And there are some cable differences between the Dacs I can't change, so I'm looking for the
Optimum use of what I have available to try to even the field.
Evaluating this stuff isn't easy!
I have already had conflicting opinions about what I'm hearing.
Clearly need more time with it fully Get It!
There's a Firmware update available.
When you click on it, it will tell you whether yours is up to date or not.
Certainly no downside to it that I can tell.
