As you seem to want to try both then please do and experience why ethernet is (or should be) preferable. There are a number of technical reasons for this I believe, including noise from the 5V USB power bus, jitter levels, that the USB input on Oppo 205 is not AFAIK asynchronous etc. However do bear in mind that the USB cable you choose will also have a significant influence on what you hear ranging from (from my experience) virtually unlistenable (my Cannon printer's USB cable) to pretty good. My recommendation for performance v. price is Audioquest Carbon.
