RE: The new M1 jitter is still audible.

I haven't watched it consistently to tell. Besides, it doesn't matter. Jitter is a digital timing error and it can exist at any bit rate.

What I'm hearing is a harsh edge to the sound that is significantly alleviated through use of an iFi USB decrapifier (version 1) that I previously used with my old 2009 Mac Mini. I hoped the new M1 would not need it but it did. Sound quality is improved if the M1's Audio Midi sample rate matches the native rate of the song. But that's an oversampling issue not jitter.

Maybe the problem here is not jitter but it sounds to my ears like jitter did from the early CD days back when jitter was a bigger problem.
