Amazon HD runs under windows, I use it a lot and basically love it. I don't know if it runs under Linux. It might run on a windows "simulator" such as runs on Apples, I don't know. They have a browser version but that does not support ultra hd. The Amazon player sounds great, the availablity of music is amazing, and they automatically put most of the CDs you have purchased from them in the past online for you.

One thing about the Amazon player, I have not been able to make it work in windows "exclusive" mode. That mode basically bypasses the window mixer- that helps to assure bit perfect playback and avoid resampling. Not sure I can here a difference as long as the sound settings in windows is set for high enough resolution anyway...

But no choice except to use Amazon's player, nothing else works in my experience.
