RE: LOL!

It's been a while. Welcome back.

That new Apple chip looks interesting. They've put all the RAM and graphics right into the chip. In theory, having everything on one chip avoids all the fetching out on the bus which is still the slowest bottleneck on most systems. Of course, it doesn't allow much in the way of upgrades!

Hey, was it you that I bought my VK-5i from? I'd got frustrated with it a few years ago mostly because my stock of old 'NOS' Bugle Boys ran out and I couldn't get rid of tube noise. Charlie gave me an offer I couldn't refuse for an Ayre KX-5 Twenty which I put in the main system. Then, I retubed the BAT and put it in my office system. What a difference with new tubes, until, one day, the BAT was smoking from the volume control section. Thankfully, Victor and his crew fixed it and added some new caps and it sounds better than ever.

Sadly, we don't get to see the grandkids as much as we'd like because my daughter lives in Arizona. On the bright side, having a pool gets them over here whenever they visit. They're taking swim lessons and by next summer, they both should be swim safe so we don't have to watch them like hawks.
