RE: Setting up a Mac mini as a music server, and other digital music questions




Your Airbook would be fine. Audirvana is the answer. Crazy cheap and awesome sound. As far as the Mac goes Moon has some great advice. Stuff like nothing on the desktop, set your background screen to black not a photo. Basically anything that would use memory shut if off.

In Audirvana set the memory to max and upsampling on. You can play with the different settings and I can share mine if you want.

If you are worried about USB noise use a galvanic isolator like the one here in the picture.
