RE: Music on my phone

Thanks Abe.

" I would definitely not recommend bluetooth for IEMs or headphones at home, BUT if your need is occasional good sounding music on the go, I would skip the extra hassle of dongles and insect DACs and just try straight bluetooth headphones, or maybe bluetooth IEMs."

Only one problem with that which I agree with in principle. The article kindly linked by Gary below from Trusted Reviews states right from the beginning that Blue Tooth aptx is not supported by i-phones. You need AAC. which the Sony cans and their XM4 replacement has. My reservation is they are really too large for the kind of casual music portable listening that I do where I try to fit everything into a coat pocket. Still, your suggestion is very much in mind and I may well go for it if AAC as implemented in i-phones allows for hi-res or a hi-res near equivalent. As it is a lossy codec I suspect not. Perhaps I am being too fussy?
