Foobar needs to be configured properly by going through all the options with care. Many of the features are not necessary. The output method and sizes of buffers are important.

Others players either cannot be configured or have other configuration options.

In its simplest form Foobar can sound very good, especially if you use Kernel Streaming with minimal buffers.
