RE: Digital Content vs CDs and Vinyl

I've had pretty good results with downloads from HDTracks after they abandoned their 'home grown' download manager. They've been using one made for them by another outfit and it's been very reliable. I think one of the reasons there are download managers is to ensure that an interrupted download can be automatically restarted where it left off. This is less of a problem for folks with extremely fast internet but can be a horrible experience if someone needs to start their download from the beginning because something glitched just before they were finished.

I think I have a couple dozen 'hi-res' album downloads from HDTracks, mostly in AIFF 24/96. I believe E-Stat and another inmate had problems with a couple FLAC downloads because there was a bug in the open source FLAC encoder that was in use a while back. They had to re-FLAC their files to make them playback correctly.
