So if Tidal is streaming MQA (Tidal Masters) and the Tidal player software can do the first unfolding, why do we need that capability in the microRendu streamer itself?
Everything about MQA tends to generate More Questions than Answers, but here's my take: The Tidal player works only when directing output via the server itself. Like I do when at the helm (now) playing back through its Delta 24/96 sound card to the office/in house system. The Tidal plugin for LMS, however, has no such capability when I stream it to the microRendu upstairs. This added capability would seem to level the playing ground.
I would think the first unfolding would be easier (less resource usage) on a full blown PC/Mac vs within a small streamer.
Perhaps, but I don't use any middleware between LMS and streamer.
