Thanks for the suggestions, but...

how are you receiving files? if wireless that could be a major problem.

Hardwired ethernet. Twice.

if they are ARM based chipsets you just might not have enough processing power and memory in the hardware,

The two streamers do use ARM based processors, but the PC itself runs an i7-860 with 16 GB for the local Squeezelite player. Not the problem.

if other 24 192 tracks play fine then it might be corruption in the file

They do which I why I asked to download the files again. Also, if they were corrupt, the resampling would likely not have *fixed* the issue.
