and thankful that Cut-Throat convinced me to take the leap earlier this year with replacing mine. There is some assembly and minor configuration involved, but I don't consider it a bit deal.
The RPi platform is less expensive, more flexible and can sound much better depending upon the components you choose. It's only "limitation" is that it is headless and requires a phone/pad for operation. Which is what I used most of the time with my Touch players anyway.
The unit has 1 GB of built in memory. You can either use that to run both LMS and Squeezelite (server and player) or if using as a player only as I do, devote 600 MB of that towards an output buffer. I can power cycle my access point and the player never skips a beat. Nor has any trouble playing high resolution content via Wi-Fi using an inexpensive outboard dongle.
All the LMS based plug ins work.
