I don't do a lot of comparisons. My enjoyment comes primarily from listening to music. However, after making as many vinyl recordings as I've made, it's difficult not to hear the ones that sound identical to vinyl the the ones that sound slightly different. The TASCAM DA-3000 is a very accurate digital recorder.
If your primary interest is in making audible comparisons, you might want to buy a TASCAM DA-3000 and hear for yourself just how accurate it is. After all, it's not that expensive at a thousand dollars. At any rate, the TASCAM DA-3000 satisfies my desire for accuracy and that has always been the primary goal of my audio system -- accurate reproduction!
