Which will most certainly include frequencies above the first two octaves. Your *test* would need to use an xover frequency much lower depending upon the filter slope.

A better question is "why would you separate essentially omnidirectional content that cannot be localized upon playback?"

Harman research concluded that the optimal positioning for a dual subwoofer system is one centered in the front of the room with the other centered in the rear.
