While Foobar is probably the best software for audio playback on a PC, its not for everyone. Its much more complicated and harder to setup than media players like Itunes or WMP11. And if your not using an external dac or a high end sound card, the sound quality differance between Foobar and WMP11 or Itunes is not even going to be noticable in most cases. As for the volume control, I would set them all to thier defaults.
