RE: Hmmm

The claim is for -105DB noise plus distortion. My gripe is due to the result that noise (or distortion depending on what you decide to call it, and I'm sure, based on your recent tone, I'm about to see you do backflips to try and convince how no reasonable person would ever consider crosstalk as noise or distortion. whatever) at a -80dB level, which would be present for anyone doing 2 channel recordings, is no where near the claimed level of -105dB.

The test, as I ran it, consisted of one channel 1 driven to around -3dB of full scale. The signal, generated in audacity. The level set via my preamp volume knob.

Channel two only had termination, in this case one of my phono cart coils directly across the adc input since it was convenient. The phono deck was not spinning and the arm in its rest. This configuration produces no noticible peaks above the ADC self noise while there is no other signals being fed to the ADC.

As I noted. The crosstalk signal correlating to the frequency of the ref signal driving channel 1 appearing in channel 2 is approximately 80dB down below the level it is in channel 1 as soon as the signal gets applied to channel 1.

"If I got this right"

Well you didn't get this right as I explained earlier. This model is the Stereo192 ADC it has no DAC's. It is sold as an ADC for the sole purpose of only doing analog to digital conversion, nothing else at all. No DACS!

"the spec that you claim to have measured is orders of magnitude better than what is required."

Required? Are you posing limits on what I may do with the device I've purchased? Yes I planned to rip vinyl with it. That isn't all I want to use it for.

again, how is that relevant to the point of this thread? Recall I have only complained about my perception that the marketing of this device is sleazy and deceptive. I never even brought up vinyl in my original thread.

The fact that I may choose to use it for that is somewhat irrelevant considering it is hardly the only application I have in mind for it.

I never claimed I needed better than -80dB crosstalk rejection for ripping vinyl. I can't help but wonder why you keep belaboring this point after I conceded it several times now.

"Did you experience some sort of problem with this ADC? Or do you just enjoy finding inconsequential anomalies is what manufacturers choose to publish (or not) in their data sheets?"

Yes. As I've mentioned several times now. I'm seeing noise at -80dB while using the device as intended. The manufacturer quotes misleading performance spec in the manual suggesting my noise problems would be at -105dB in the worst case. I am not enjoying the fact this problem exists and feel I was tricked into buying it.
